Initially we provided engineering services and building inspections in Los Angeles, then expanded the areas we serve to parts of Ventura, Riverside and Orange Counties, and eventually Colorado. Over time, we have added commercial building inspections and also several types of specialty inspections that are frequently needed for commercial transactions. In addition, our engineering services have expanded to meet the demand for due-diligence seismic evaluations of real property.

Service, honesty and integrity are our company's core values. We bring the same professionalism and attention to detail to all our work, whether evaluating a modest entry-level home, an expansive estate or a large commercial facility, or providing a complex analysis of a building’s seismic resilience and a detailed assessment of its structural strengths and deficiencies. Put simply, ‘We Pay Attention for a Living'®. Since 1979, we have examined more than 35,000 properties, amassing a wide-ranging client list that includes first time and seasoned buyers, banks, architects, professional athletes, actors, musicians, business managers, moguls and developers. We have evaluated high profile properties such as the U.S. Olympic Training Center, Hotel Bel-Air, Riviera Country Club, Harold Lloyd Estate, and the infamous O. J. Simpson Estate. A tacit recognition of the quality of work we provide is from the Los Angeles Board of Realtors who engaged us to evaluate their current multi-story office complex before it was purchased. Our clients have even retained us to examine properties in Arizona, Nevada and Tennessee.

OUR FOUNDER - Don Boatwright is the founder of our company. He is a registered civil engineer, licensed in California, Colorado, Florida and Texas, and the company's active member in ASHI¹ (the American Society of Home Inspectors provides for individual membership, not company membership). He is also licensed as a General Engineering and General Building Contractor and is certified by the ICBO/ICC² as a Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector and Mechanical Inspector. Mr. Boatwright has been appointed to the National Panel of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and has presided over more than two dozen cases involving construction-related disputes. These cases have ranged in complexity from single family residences to multi-million dollar commercial projects, and include projects built on private and government land. He has qualified as an expert witness for the construction industry.

OUR STAFF - Our field staff are highly trained professionals and are full-time, career employees. In fact, our "newest" employee has been with us since 1996 and over this period, has evaluated more than 8,000 properties. Each staff member has a thorough knowledge of and has been specifically trained in inspecting homes, multi-family dwellings, commercial buildings and industrial properties. And, each has passed code certification exams given by the ICBO/ICC. Our staff is a point of pride! Eight of our former employees have been hired as building inspectors in various cities throughout the nation. San Marino, Culver City, Chula Vista, Mendecino, Redondo Beach, Riverside, and Kansas City all have employed Boatwright alumnae. This reflects the quality of our employees.

INSURANCE - In addition to using a reputable company it is essential the company is backed by adequate insurance. None of us expects or wants a claim, but in today's litigious society, claims do arise. That is why we carry both Errors and Omissions and comprehensive General Liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.

_____________________________________________________
¹ ASHI - American Society of Home Inspectors
² ICBO/ICC - International Conference of Building Officials/International Code Council

",lQuery.extend(true, {}, topNavLibrary_aboutUs_options,options));};var topNavLibrary_commercialInspection_options = lQuery.extend(true,{ }, lQuery.topNavLibrary.impl.defaults, {containerCss:nRTC("width:680px;height:505px;"),header:{show:true,text:"COMMERCIAL INSPECTIONS",textCss:nRTC("text-align:center; font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; color: #FFFFFF; background-color:#6d8db4; border-width: 1px 1px 0px 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #333366; height:30px;padding:8px 0px 0px 0px;")},footer:{show:false},wrapCss:nRTC("font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:11px; background-color:#FFFFFF; border-width: 1px 1px 1px 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #333366; padding:25px 35px 15px 35px; line-height:15px;"),modalFullId: "topNavLibrary_commercialInspection"});lwmw_preloadImages(topNavLibrary_commercialInspection_options);topNavLibrary.commercialInspection=commercialInspection=function(options){lQuery.topNavLibrary.impl.init("
We provide a thorough, detailed evaluation of multi-family dwellings, hotels, shopping centers, offices, retail, banks, high-rise, country clubs, manufacturing, warehouses and other types of commercial and industrial properties.
